Seth is located 746 km northeast of Brisbane, Australia, and has moved southeastward at 20 km/h (11 knots) over the past 6 hours.
Seth will continue on its current track under the near-equatorial ridge. After 12 hours, a subtropical ridge to the southeast will assume steering and drive the system more southward.
The increasingly unfavorable environment will gradually weaken the system down to 65 km/h (35 knots) in 36 hours. Moreover, in 12 hours, the cyclone will begin to transition to a subtropical system and in 36 hours, will become fully subtropical with an expansive wind field.
