Life is perhaps one of the greatest blessings we will ever get during our life. We all experience highs and lows during our lives, but for some people, these lows are more difficult to recover from than for others.
I've been thinking about a specific issue repeatedly throughout the past several weeks and days. I've also been considering how I might approach this topic and what would be the ideal place to start.
I survived. Today, exactly three years ago, I was on the edge of losing control of my life and, since I had no idea what else to do, I did something that is still clearly apparent on my body.
I choose to share my story because I think it's crucial to have this conversation and because I hope that my experience will inspire others to have trust in themselves and persevere rather than give up.
Before we get into the story, this chapter serves as an introduction. I hope that sharing my story will inspire others to keep going and believe in themselves, even when it seems impossible. In the end, all I want to do is give up on what is most important: my life.
